MollFAM S.r.l. has invested in sustainability by installing a photovoltaic system to generate clean energy directly on the roof of its plant.

How the system works
The installed system is grid-connected, designed to operate in parallel with the plant’s internal network and therefore with the national grid. The installed power supplies energy covering 15% of MollFAM’s annual electricity needs: any surplus energy produced is fed into the national grid.
The plant roof surface, originally made of eternit (asbestos cement), was remediated and rebuilt using 200mm thick insulating sandwich panels, with photovoltaic modules installed in a fully architecturally integrated configuration, in order to obtain the maximum incentive tariff including the additional 5% bonus for asbestos removal.
